Heat Pump Servicing & Installations
Heat pumps are a renewable heating source. They work in a similar way to a boiler, but instead of burning fuel to generate heat, they draw natural warmth from outside (either underground or in the air) and heat it up, transferring the warmth around your home. Heat pumps run entirely on electricity, making them great options for homes that don’t have access to gas and may rely on alternate fuel sources like oil or LPG – no more waiting for deliveries!
As heat pumps rely only on electricity, they can be paired with renewable energy sources such as solar panels for those looking to make their home more eco-friendly. This makes heat pumps a suitable off grid heating system for those who want to create a self-sufficient home that doesn’t rely on the national grid.
Plus, you may be eligible for a government-funded grant towards your heat pump which will help with the cost. At NxtGen Heat, we’re experts in providing these renewable heating systems to homes across the Northwest and can guide you to create the most efficient heat pump system, helping you meet the government grant requirements for minimum efficiency.

How Does a Heat Pump Work?
A heat pump uses the same technology as air conditioning and fridges but reversing the process for heating rather than cooling.
- 1
Heat from the air outside or from underground is drawn into your heat pump system.
- 2
This heat is warm enough to cause the liquid in the heat pump to evaporate and turn into a gas.
- 3
The gas is then compressed, which increases the pressure, and causes its temperature to rise.
- 4
The heat is then transferred into your central heating system or hot water tank.
- 5
As the heat is transferred into the home, the gas falls in temperature, causing it to return to a liquid.
- 6
The cycle repeats until your home reaches the required temperature setting on your thermostat.
